Three Science Hill High School juniors recently achieved one of the rarest academic feats–a perfect score on the ACT college admissions test.
Sarah Leerssen, Zoe Norman and Christian Zarate earned 36 composite scores across the national exam’s English, reading, math and science sections.
“We couldn’t be prouder of Sarah, Zoe and Christian for this incredible academic achievement,†Science Hill Assistant Principal Aaron Wood said. “Their hard work and dedication are a testament to what Science Hill students can accomplish on a national level.â€
“And the best part? They’re just juniors,†he added. “We can’t wait to see what’s next.â€
The ACT is a standardized test designed to gauge students’ college-level readiness. Many colleges and universities use students’ scores as a factor in admissions decisions.
A score of 34 and higher puts students in the top 1% of test takers. Only 0.22% of test takers nationwide are able to achieve a perfect score.
