GREENEVILLE — If outdoor skills, theater or online gaming are among your interests as a youth, a local university has four summer camps lined up for you.
Tusculum University will again provide active and experiential learning opportunities for local children during the summer with four camps offered on campus.

The four camps are:
• Pioneer Skills Camp, June 16-20, from 9 a.m.-noon at the Doak House Museum for children 10-12 years old;
• Tusculum Theatre Camp, July 7-11, in Annie Hogan Byrd Fine Arts Center; 9:30-11 a.m. for ages 5-6, 2-5 p.m. for ages 9-12 and 6-9 p.m. for ages 13 and older;
• Esports and the Business of Video Games, July 14-18, 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m., in the esports lab on the fourth floor of the Scott M. Niswonger Commons for children in grades 6-12; and
• Tusculum Theatre Camp, July 14-18, in Annie Hogan Byrd Fine Arts Center; 8-11 a.m. for ages 7-9 and noon-3 p.m. for ages 9-13,
Each of the camps is run by experienced Tusculum faculty and staff members.
Pioneer Skills will be run by Dr. Peter Noll, professor of public history and museum studies. Both Theatre Camps will be led by Steve Schultz, director of arts outreach, and Erin Hensley Schultz, costume director, who have been involved for years in Tusculum and local theater productions.
Esports and the Business of Video Games will be conducted by Dr. Nick Davidson, assistant dean of the Sport Studies Division, and Dr. Harold Branstrator, associate professor of management.
These two faculty members will also utilize members of the university’s esports club and guest industry speakers as instructors.

These camps will supplement a busy summertime at Tusculum. FUGE Camps, a Christian event for students who have completed sixth through 12th grade, will take place at Tusculum June 9-13.
In addition, the Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math and Science Summer Academy will be held from May 26 to June 26.
