BLOUTVILLE — Throw those caps in the air and celebrate as Northeast State Community College honors a new graduating class at spring commencement Tuesday, May 13.
The commencement ceremony begins at 9 a.m. at the outdoor amphitheater located on the Blountville campus, 2425 Highway 75, next to Tri-Cities Airport. Commencement ceremonies take place at five times scheduled throughout the day, recognizing students in the college’s six academic divisions and the Adult Education Program. The ceremony times are as follows:
9 a.m. — Behavioral & Social Sciences and Mathematics
11 a.m. — Health Professions and Science
1 p.m. — Humanities
3 p.m. — Technologies
5 p.m. — Adult Education
The spring graduating class totals 836 students receiving 1,072 degrees and certificates. Student graduates will be awarded 11 academic certificates, 270 technical certificates, 296 associate of applied science degrees, 30 associate of arts degrees, 16 associate of science in teaching degrees and 449 associate of science degrees.
The spring 2025 graduating class features 113 students graduating cum laude with grade point averages or GPAs of 3.50 to 3.74; 74 students graduating magna cum laude with GPAs of 3.75 to 3.89; and 103 students graduating summa cum laude with GPAs of 3.90 to 4.0.
