The building was listed for sale April 30, the Kingsport Times previously reported, with an asking price of $1.75 million for the 13,000-square foot property.

Pratt鈥檚 has served as a Kingsport staple since it opened in 1971. Owner Tom Pratt bought the property and transformed it from Honest John鈥檚 to Pratt鈥檚 Barn.

Jonathan Pratt, son and representative of business owner Tom Pratt, shared more about the business move in early May 2024. He said his father 鈥渉as earned some time without the stress that comes along with restaurant ownership.鈥�

A previous release from May 30, 2024, revealed that the property is under contract and not expected to remain a restaurant.

The restaurant recently shared a post to its Facebook page asking for the community鈥檚 help on relocating 鈥淏ig John,鈥� the giant Indian outside the property. In the comments, the restaurant states it had plans to donate the statue to Dobyns-Bennett High School, but the school 鈥渄oesn鈥檛 have a space/location suitable,鈥� per the comment.
