Archery
KINGSPORT PARKS & RECREATION BEGINNER LESSONS: Classes will be held every Thursday in September from 6-7 p.m. in the Lynn View Community Center gymnasium (257 Walker Street). Students will enjoy a course covering all aspects of basic archery.
The cost is $40 for city residents and $45 for non-city residents. The lessons are open to anyone ages 7 and up. The maximum number of registrants is 12.

ETSU SEPTEMBER PROSPECT CAMP: Sept. 7 at Thomas Stadium. Check-in at 9 a.m. Camp offers a unique baseball learning opportunity for serious high school players with goals of playing baseball at the highest level. KINGSPORT YOUTH BASKETBALL: Registration Aug. 22 through Sept. 17. Participants must live inside Kingsport’s city limits, own city property or attend Kingsport City Schools. Leagues offered include Bantam (5-6), Pee Wee Boys (7-8), Pee Wee Girls (7-9), Rookie Boys (9-10) and Senior Boys (15-17).
Registration fee is $30 per child and the age determination date is August 15, 2024. JOHNSON CITY YOUTH BASKETBALL: Registration runs Sept. 1 through Nov. 1 for any child age 3-16. Register before Oct. 18 to avoid a late fee. Registration prior to Oct. 18 is $35 for ºÚÁÏÊÓÆµ residents and $45 for non-residents.
Coaches meetings take place on Oct. 28 (ages 3-5) and Oct. 29 (ages 6 and up) at 6 p.m. in the Memorial Park Community Center. Practice begins Nov. 18, and the season starts Dec. 2. Register online at .

KINGSPORT PARKS & RECREATION BEGINNER CLASSES: This class is a beginner fitness class for children ages 12-18 with a specialization in boxing. Participants will be working with the fundamentals and foundations of boxing and there will be no contact between the participants.
Classes will be taught by a certified instructor and will take place from 6-7 p.m. on Wednesdays from Sept. 10 through Oct. 15 at the V.O. Dobbins, Sr. Complex. KINGSPORTS PARKS & RECREATION ASPIRE (Adaptive: Sports Programs Inclusive Recreation Experiences) CLASSES: Every Tuesday now through May 12 (10:30-noon) at the V.O. Dobbins, Sr. Complex (301 Louis Street).
This free program is open for participants ages 22 and above. The A.S.P.I.R.E. inclusion classes will include stretching, agility exercises, games, crafts and music. Participants are asked to bring a lunch and eat with their fellow athletes. Adaptive programs are for people with disabilities or physical limitations and are designed to ensure fair and equal competition among participants.

TWF HUNTING & FISHING ACADEMY JONESBOROUGH YOUTH DEER HUNT: Oct. 24-26. Applications now being accepted. Mentored hunts for youth ages 9 to 16. To participate, youth must complete a certified hunter education course and acquire the appropriate Tennessee hunting license before the event. A parent or guardian is required to attend.

Pickleball
CHAMPIONS OF THE COURT: Hosted by the Kingsport Parks and Recreation Department. Mondays from Aug. 18 through Sept. 15 (excluding Labor Day) with all games played at the Riverview Park Pickleball Courts from 6-8 p.m. each day. The event is for beginner and intermediate levels – skill level 3.0 or higher.
The cost is $5 per person per week, and the event is open to 20 players per week. Participants must be ages 13 and older. Players will be matched randomly before each session and at the end of the event, the top two players from each week will face off in the final tournament September 22 for the championship game. Prizes will be awarded to the top two winners.

KINGSPORT PARKS & RECREATION WOMEN’S INTRODUCTION: Students will be guided through the fundamental techniques and safety measures essential for mastering the art of skateboarding.
The Introduction to Skateboarding classes, specifically tailored for adult women, will take place at the Scott Adams Memorial Skatepark (2016 Brickyard Park Dr.) every Monday from Sept. 8-29 from 6-7 p.m. The cost for the lessons is $30 for city residents and $35 for non-city residents.
