Symphony of the Mountains is in a patriotic mode as the Fourth of July approaches.Â
Stars, Stripes & Symphonies concerts are set for Bristol, Virginia, Kingsport and Pennington Gap, Va., with all but the indoor Kingsport one being free outdoor events.
invites folks in the Tri-Cities "to join us for a high-spirited musical celebration of American pride, unity and community at our Stars, Stripes, and Symphonies concert tour," according to a news release for the event.
"Bring your family, your lawn chairs and your patriotic spirit for this unforgettable experience filled with familiar patriotic favorites," the release stated.
TOUR SCHEDULE
• At 7:30 p.m., Friday, June 27, free outdoor concert at Cumberland Square Park, Bristol, Virginia.
• At 7 p.m., Saturday, June 28, paid general admission concert at the Toy F. Reid Eastman Employee Center, Kingsport.
Pre-concert activities will take place 4:45 to 6:45 p.m. including food trucks and art. Activities include face painting, bucket drumming corn hole matches, the EZ Squeezy lemonade truck and other local food trucks "and even a few surprises," a news release said.
The cost for the event and tickets available at or at the door. Students and children are free.
• At 7 p.m., Sunday, June 29, free outdoor concert at Leeman Field Park in Pennington Gap, Virginia.
"This fun-filled concert will include musical tributes to the land we love and is the perfect way to kick off your Independence Day celebrations early," according to the news release.
The symphony gave thanks to community partners and supporters, including the Kingsport Office of Cultural Arts, Believe in Bristol and local municipalities, "for helping us bring this free and low-cost musical experience to families across the region."
