Erwin native and “Bachelor†alumni Jessica “Jess†Edwards will have her hometown cheering her on when she makes her debut on ABC’s “Bachelor in Paradise†at 8 p.m. on Monday, July 7.
The series is entering its 10th season and is taking place in Costa Rica with former NFL quarterback Jesse Palmer returning as host.
Edwards will be joined by 25 other hopefuls looking for a romantic connection in the tropic island setting.
Edward’s mother, Kristie Ledford, spoke to The Erwin Record about her daughter’s return to television screens across the nation.
“Jessica was very happy about the opportunity to return to ‘The Bachelor’ franchise,†Ledford said.
She noted that “Bachelor in Paradise†was not filmed in 2024, which was disappointing for her daughter and other fans of the show.
Now Edwards has an opportunity to have another adventure on a different series in the “Bachelor†franchise and to meet new people, which Ledford noted is something her daughter loves to do.
“We support Jessica completely and know in our hearts that she will make good decisions,†her father, Will Edwards, told The Erwin Record.
The show features fan favorites who are given a second chance to find love.
Tara Baker, co-owner with her husband, Michael, of the Union Street Taproom, is planning viewing parties for “The Bachelor in Paradise†episodes. These events will be held every Monday from 7 to 10 p.m. with cider specials, popcorn and weekly brackets. The taproom is located at 111 Union St., Erwin.
“Bachelor in Paradise†will air its first episode of the new season on Monday, July 7, from 8 to 10:02 p.m. The episode will be available for streaming on Hulu the day after airing on ABC.
